WolfChild is a great action platform game originally released in 1992 for the Amiga and the Atari ST by Core Design. The game was later released for the SNES, Mega Drive / Genesis, Mega-CD, Sega Master System and the Sega Game Gear consoles.

WolfchildSTORY / GAMEPLAY
The world's most renowned bio-genetic scientist has been kidnapped and brainwashed / forced to create an army of bloodthirsty mutant warriors. Suddenly, the fate of all making rests in the hands of his youngest son and a top-secret mutation experiment known as "Project Wolfchild.". As far as the gameplay, the fun-factor is something you would expect from an average action platform game, but the concept of transforming into a wolf to have more power and back again is pretty neat. It only needs you to get your life bar high enough and see your character howling like a werewolf. The human Saul can use his bare hands as weapons but as a werewolf he surely is more powerful as he can utilize enhanced psychic powers to fling projectile weapons.

GRAPHICS / SOUND
The graphics on the Game Gear are quite impressive and pretty close to the more powerful Sega Mega Drive and Amiga versions but with less colors and fewer details since some special effects from the 16bit versions like thunder-strikes at the background and a few cool other artworks are missing. The sprites' animation is good and quite smooth while the sound is somewhat poor. There is a nice intro music score at the main menu but the in-game sound features a few simple sound effects and nothing special.
